Biography

TERRY RITCHIE provides comprehensive Canada – US wealth management solutions through Cardinal Point Capital Management, Inc., for Canadian citizens or residents relocating to the US or US citizens or residents living in or relocating to Canada. Through their unique process and combined expertise, Terry is able to coordinate all aspects of his client’s financial situation in either country and also provides US and Canadian tax preparation and planning. His clients are generally high net worth individuals who require very unique and specialized advice that is often very difficult to find.

Terry is a Registered Financial Planner (RFP) in Canada and is enrolled to practice before the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as an Enrolled Agent (EA). Terry is also a Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) affiliated with the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). In 1985, Terry graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance.

Terry has been practicing in the areas of financial, investment, tax and estate planning for over 30 years. Not only does Terry practice in both Canada and the US, he lives in both countries as well. Terry is uniquely qualified to deal with financial matters of Canadians and Americans in either country. He has consulted on behalf of individuals, major corporations, various legal and financial professionals and professional athletes on either side of the border.

Terry is active as an author, speaker and educator on international financial, tax and estate planning matters. His writings have appeared in national magazines, professional journals, internet websites and major newspapers in both Canada and the United States. He has been interviewed and featured in The Globe and Mail, The National Post, The Advisors Edge, Investment Executive, CBC Radio, CTV and The Business News Network. Terry had previously served on the Editorial Board of The Advisors Edge magazine, Advisors Edge Report and on the Editorial Board for the STEP Journal in Canada.

He has also been a featured speaker on various Canada and US financial, tax and estate planning matters at National, Local and Advanced planning conferences on behalf of The Canadian Association of Financial Planners, Advocis, The Institute of Advanced Financial Planners (RFPs Canada), The Canadian Association of Life Underwriters (CALU Canada), The Canadian Institute of Financial Planners (ICFP Canada) Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP Canada), Federated Press, The National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA – US) and The Financial Planning Association (FPA – US)

Terry is also the best-selling co-author of The Canadian in America, The Canadian Snowbird in America and The American in Canada, all published by ECW Press Canada.
