Biography
Tanya, a Professor of Personal Finance and seasoned business owner, is a Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) with over 20 years of professional experience in financial planning. As a Ph.D. Candidate in Personal Financial Planning @ Kansas State University, Tanya is actively engaged in both primary and secondary research, focusing on gender diversity and the well-being of Canadians. Her research contributions are well-recognized, with multiple publications in academic journals, conference presentations and speaking engagements.
In addition to her academic and research endeavors, Tanya plays a pivotal role supporting projects with FP Canada, serving on the FP Assumption Guidelines Committee, the Educator’s Advisory Panel, and as a Technical Knowledge Writer. She is also a member of the Financial Planning Research Journal’s Editorial Board and contributes to the Canadian Centre for Women’s Empowerment as a Taskforce Member. Furthermore, she leverages her expertise as a peer reviewer for various academic journals.
