Biography

My goal is to help my clients attain their goals, and I accomplish that by developing truly customized plans for them. I once heard someone say that good financial planning doesn’t scale, and that’s the reason why it’s great; that message resonates loudly with me.

My entire career has been spent in wealth management and at a firm that specializes in providing financial planning to our clients to help them meet their goals. In addition to the CFP, I hold the R.F.P. designation – the highest level of competency that can be attained in the field of financial planning in Canada. I have a TEP which indicates a level of specialty in trusts, estates, and end of life planning. I also have many years of experience preparing personal income tax returns for high net worth Canadians.

At a national level, I’ve been recognized by “Wealth Professional” on multiple occasions for being one of the top younger advisors in Canada (although sadly I am aging out of those categories now!). I am a regular contributor to personal finance blogs and have been quoted as an expert in numerous articles, including those from The Financial Post, The Globe and Mail, Investment Executive, Advisor.ca, MoneySense, and Morningstar. I also have made several guest appearances on some of the top financial podcasts in Canada.

In addition to helping my clients, I am also the President of the Institute of Advanced Financial Planners (IAFP), an organization I joined early in my career that has helped to shape me into the planner I am today. It was a moment of great pride when I stepped into the presidency after serving on the Board for several years. It is through this role that I can do my part to continue to elevate the professionalism of the financial planning industry.

I enjoy exchanging ideas with my fellow financial planning colleagues within the various financial forums that I am a part of. I strongly believe in sharing my best ideas with peers and that as a financial planning community we should learn from one another to keep enhancing the advice available to Canadians across the country.

Our company: We believe in comprehensive planning that encompasses all aspects of personal finance – comprehensive financial planning, investment management, proactive tax planning and tax preparation, insurance and risk management, retirement, estate, and philanthropic planning.

On a personal note, my wife and I have twin daughters who keep us happy and busy
